SearchMesh + TypeScript
Free during beta: 1,000 successful tool calls per account each UTC month. Failed calls are not counted.
- Generate a credential and set SEARCHMESH_API_KEY in a server-side environment.
- Install the v1 SDK: npm install @modelcontextprotocol/sdk@^1 (v2 moved the client to @modelcontextprotocol/client; the example below targets v1). Use a Node.js TypeScript runtime such as tsx.
- Run the example below to connect, list tools, and search. Never ship this secret to a web browser.
MCP server URL
https://api.searchmesh.io/mcpThis client authenticates with a credential. Sign in to your dashboard, open TypeScript under Connect your AI, and generate a key there. Keys are shown once, stored as hashes, and can be revoked individually. Send it as Authorization: Bearer YOUR_SEARCHMESH_API_KEY (or X-Api-Key).
Configuration / example
// Requires @modelcontextprotocol/sdk v1 (npm install @modelcontextprotocol/sdk@^1).
import { Client } from "@modelcontextprotocol/sdk/client/index.js";
import { StreamableHTTPClientTransport } from "@modelcontextprotocol/sdk/client/streamableHttp.js";
const token = process.env.SEARCHMESH_API_KEY;
if (!token) throw new Error("Set SEARCHMESH_API_KEY");
const client = new Client({ name: "searchmesh-typescript", version: "1.0.0" });
await client.connect(new StreamableHTTPClientTransport(
new URL("https://api.searchmesh.io/mcp"),
{ requestInit: { headers: { Authorization: `Bearer ${token}` } } }
));
try {
console.log(await client.listTools());
console.log(await client.callTool({ name: "web_search", arguments: { query: "official MCP specification" } }));
} finally { await client.close(); }
Try your first search
Ask your agent: Use SearchMesh to find the official MCP specification, read the relevant page, and cite the source URLs. Then check Request history in your dashboard.
Server authentication is supported; setup has not been tested end to end in every provider UI. Search queries and URLs are processed by SearchMesh and its upstream services; see the privacy policy.
